As you all know our regular closure for two weeks allows us to scrub, paint and sand back the floors ready to open with a fresh gleaming store. So this year the cafe promises to have some exciting new specials but not forgetting some of our old favourites including the Welsh Rarebit, Salmon fishcakes and our delicious homemade breakfast loaf, cakes and scones. The General Store is stocked again with lots of candles, books, gifts and bath products as well as some new and beautiful furniture, if you are looking for something specific or would just like to know more about what we have you can give us a call or have a peek at our catalogue which features just a few select items.
We are also stocking some simply gorgeous pieces from British ceramicist Sarah Jerath of 'Sustain Ceramics'. Sarah uses a philosophy of natural simplicity when it come to designing and making her work. Based in the North West of England she locally sources recycled and natural aggregates found alongside streams and quarries which are then hand crushed in a pestle and mortar. Each bowl, plate cup or spoon is uniquely and completely handmade, then partly left unglazed and hand polished for a stone like texture. Each piece we have had in store is absolutely stunning and Sarah has already gained a lot of igigi collectors and we look forward to seeing more of her pieces. For something a bit different we started off this February with a 'knitting Knight' with Erika Knight! Hosted in the cafe with tea and cake, Erika helped a keen bunch of knitters create something from her wonderful patterns. We have sold and stocked Erika's books and patterns over the last couple of years and through doing this found lots of knitters wanting to learn more! Watch this space for the next evening to be held soon. As always Zoe and Alex are already busy with lots of new and exciting Interiors projects but you can still pop in and see me and the girls for a chat and find out whats happening.
We Look forward to seeing you...
